About Terrun
Born from a Son’s Promise to His Mum
Terrun started with a simple vow: help Mum walk without pain. At 50, her feet ached after short trips to the shops. Doctors tried to help, but the cycle became familiar—more “support,” more pills, more inserts—yet less comfort and confidence.
The Turning Point
Watching Mum wince with every step was the moment things changed. I dove into research—foot anatomy, biomechanics, gait, and anything that might explain why conventional shoes and medical fixes weren’t helping. That’s when I discovered the Tarahumara, also known as the Rarámuri people of Mexico’s Copper Canyon.
They’re renowned for running extraordinary distances—sometimes well into their 70s—often barefoot or in simple sandals, with ease and joy. Their resilience and natural movement stood in stark contrast to the pain my mum was experiencing. This discovery lit a path: maybe the solution wasn’t “more support” but a return to how humans are built to move.
The Conventional Shoe Trap
Decades in narrow, cushioned, raised-heel shoes can make feet passive—like a cast. Muscles switch off, toes crowd, posture shifts, and joints pick up the extra load. Comfort today becomes complaints tomorrow.
From Research to a Remedy
We experimented with wide toe boxes, zero-drop platforms, and flexible soles that let the foot feel and respond. Slowly, gently, Mum rebuilt strength and confidence—more dog walks, longer shopping trips, and the simple joy of moving without bracing for pain.
What Terrun Stands For
- Wide Toe Box: lets toes spread, improving balance and stability.
- Zero-Drop: keeps heels and toes level for more natural alignment.
- Flexible Sole: restores ground feel (proprioception) so your body can move safely and smoothly.
- Gentle Transition: slow, steady progress—because strong feet are built, not bought.
Our Mission
Help people—especially 40+—reclaim everyday movement without fear of pain, using footwear that works with your body, not against it.
